On a whim I decided to drive 3 1/2 hours to visit the Pemaquid Lighthouse in Pemaquid, ME and I am really glad I did! It’s a magical little corner of Maine (but what corner of Maine isn’t magical?). The grounds, rock formation and views around the lighthouse are breathtaking. I got there an hour before sunset and stayed after dark.
One of the appealing aspects of this location is the lack of light pollution in the area so it’s a good place to practice astrophotography. I decided to stay for about three hours and shoot from the golden hour until nightfall.
